Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
DuraFlex Chimney Inspection in Las Vegas: What to Know First
DuraFlex chimney inspection in Las Vegas typically costs between $189 and $349, and most jobs are completed within 60 to 90 minutes. As an independent DuraFlex service provider, we inspect the full venting system – liner, connections, termination cap, and the appliance itself – then hand you a written report with photos before we recommend anything. No repair gets quoted until you’ve seen the camera footage for yourself.
This page is for homeowners in Las Vegas who have a DuraFlex liner or venting system and want to know its actual condition – not a sales pitch. If you’ve got a flexible aluminum or stainless liner running through your chimney, whether it was installed last year or fifteen years ago, you need someone who knows how these specific systems behave in our climate. Nathan Corliss and our crew at Ashby Chimney Las Vegas have inspected DuraFlex systems across the valley, from older Summerlin wood-burners to gas inserts in Henderson. Call (725) 220-6109 and we’ll walk you through what to expect before we even book the appointment.
How DuraFlex Products Fail – and How We Find It
DuraFlex makes solid products. That said, every liner system has weak points, and Las Vegas is hard on them. Here’s what we actually see on inspections here.
- DuraFlex 316L stainless liners – pitting at the seam welds. The 316L alloy handles wood-burning temperatures well, but in Las Vegas homes that burn regularly through winter, we find pitting at the weld seams where the corrugations meet. It’s not a manufacturing defect – it’s years of thermal cycling plus the fine ash that settles into those grooves. Our fix is usually a seam-level camera pass to confirm depth, then either a targeted patch or a liner section replacement, depending on what the footage shows.
- DuraFlex aluminum liners (gas applications) – kinking at the offset. When a gas fireplace or furnace was converted and the installer had to navigate an offset chimney, the flexible aluminum can kink if it wasn’t supported properly. We find this on maybe one in every eight gas inspections we do in the Las Vegas area. A kinked liner restricts draft and can trap carbon monoxide. We flag it immediately, show you the camera image, and quote a replacement section if needed.
- DuraFlex Pro (the heavier stainless line) – termination cap corrosion at the crown. The Pro series liner itself holds up well, but the cap that terminates it at the top of the chimney takes the full brunt of our sun and the occasional monsoon downpour. Clark County’s hard water leaves mineral deposits that eat through the cap’s finish faster than you’d expect. Our inspections always include a rooftop check of the cap and crown, because that’s where the Pro systems show age first.
- Insulation wrap breakdown on any DuraFlex liner. If your liner has an insulation wrap – common on wood-burning installations – the wrap can degrade and separate from the liner over time, especially in the dry Las Vegas air. A separated wrap means uneven temperature distribution, which accelerates creosote buildup in the gaps. We check for wrap integrity with the camera at multiple points along the run.
- Improper adapters – the most common non-DuraFlex failure. More often than a liner failing on its own, we find an adapter or connector that wasn’t DuraFlex-compatible and got loosened over time. The liner flexes, the off-brand connector doesn’t, and you get a gap at the joint. We replace with correct OEM or quality-matched aftermarket parts and verify the fit with a pressure test before we call the job done.
One honest note: none of these are reasons to panic. Some are safety items we’ll tell you to address right away. Others we’ll document and say plainly, “This can wait a year, here’s the photo, keep an eye on it.” We’d rather you know the truth than feel pushed into a liner replacement you don’t need.

Our DuraFlex Chimney Inspection Process
Every DuraFlex inspection we do in Las Vegas follows the same path, from the first phone call to the final report. Here’s how a typical job runs.
- 1
You call, a live person answers. No voicemail loops, no callback forms. We answer (725) 220-6109 24/7, take your address, and book a real arrival window – not a four-hour “sometime Thursday.”
- 2
We arrive in uniform and walk the system with you. Before touching anything, we ask what you’ve noticed – odd smells, draft problems, that puff of smoke when you light a fire. Then we lay out exactly what we’ll check and the written price for the inspection.
- 3
Camera run from top to bottom. We feed the camera down through the liner and watch the entire run – seam condition, kinks, gaps at joints, creosote or soot buildup, moisture intrusion. You can watch the screen with us.
- 4
Rooftop check of cap, crown, and chase top. Las Vegas sun and wind do specific things to exterior components. We photograph everything.
- 5
Appliance-side verification. We check the connector at the appliance, the damper, the smoke chamber (if it’s a masonry fireplace with a liner), and confirm the system drafts correctly.
- 6
Photo report and plain-English findings. You get the written report with images while we’re still there. If a repair is needed, we give you a written price before any work starts. If it’s not urgent, we tell you that too. When repairs are done, you get a written guarantee – and the 365-Day Done Right Promise behind it.

AfterWhat DuraFlex Chimney Inspection Costs in Las Vegas
Here’s our straight answer. A standard DuraFlex inspection with camera runs between $189 and $279 for a single-flue home. If you need a Level 2 inspection – typical for real estate transactions or after a liner installation – expect $299 to $349. Add a rooftop cap replacement or a small connector fix, and you’re usually in the $120 to $400 range for the repair on top of the inspection, depending on what the camera shows.
What moves the price? Multi-flue homes, chase-top access difficulty, and whether we’re documenting for a real estate sale (which requires the more detailed Level 2 report). Nobody at Ashby Chimney Las Vegas will quote a repair without you seeing the camera evidence first. That’s the Kingswell Way: say the price, show the work, put it in writing. Call (725) 220-6109 for a free estimate – we’ll give you a firm inspection price before we even book.
Why Las Vegas Homeowners Call Ashby Chimney Las Vegas for DuraFlex Work
Because we answer the phone. Because the price we quote at the door is the price on the invoice. Because the technician who walks in wears an Ashby uniform, has a background check on file, and actually knows what a DuraFlex 316L seam weld looks like when it’s starting to pit.
We’ve been doing this since 2002, and every job – every single one – gets a written price before any work starts and a written guarantee when it’s done. If a covered repair fails within the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s not an upsell; it’s how we work. When a DuraFlex liner needs more than a patch, we stock or source from the trade brands we trust – DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield – so you’re never stuck with whatever happened to be in the van. Nathan Corliss built this shop on a simple habit: tell the customer the price before you touch anything, then put whatever you promised in writing. We’ve inspected DuraFlex systems all over Las Vegas, and we’d be glad to look at yours.
FAQs
In most Las Vegas neighborhoods, yes – we can often get a technician out the same day or next morning, depending on the schedule. Call (725) 220-6109 and we’ll give you the first real arrival window we have. We don’t promise specific dispatch times we can’t keep.
No. A standard camera inspection does not void any DuraFlex warranty. In fact, most liner warranties require annual inspection and maintenance records if you ever need to file a claim. As an independent DuraFlex service provider, we’re not authorized by the manufacturer, but our inspections meet the documentation requirements most warranty claims ask for. If we find a defect that looks warranty-eligible, we’ll tell you and help you understand how to proceed.
Most DuraFlex inspections in Las Vegas run between $189 and $279 for a standard single-flue job with camera. Level 2 inspections – common for home sales or after a liner replacement – run $299 to $349. Call (725) 220-6109 for an exact quote on your setup; the estimate is free and the price we give you is the price on the invoice.
We do both. Our techs repair DuraFlex liners regularly – seam patches, connector replacements, cap swaps, section replacements – using OEM or quality-matched aftermarket parts sourced from chimney-trade suppliers. Every repair gets a written price before we start and a written guarantee when we finish, backed by the 365-Day Done Right Promise.
We’ll tell you it isn’t urgent. You’ll get a photo showing the issue, a plain-English explanation of what we saw, and a note on when it’s worth addressing. Then the decision is yours. We don’t push repairs that can safely wait – that’s not how Ashby Chimney Las Vegas does business, and it’s not the Kingswell Way. If you want a second opinion, we’ll hand you the footage and let you take it anywhere.
