Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

The Ashby Chimney Las Vegas Guarantee

We’ve been cleaning and repairing fireplaces in Las Vegas since 2002, and we’ve learned something over those years: a guarantee only means something if it’s written down and the company behind it actually shows up. Ours does both. Every sweep, inspection, and repair from Ashby Chimney Las Vegas includes a written price before we touch anything and a written guarantee when we finish. If a covered repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s not an upsell or a warranty card you have to register. It’s how Nathan Corliss has run this business for more than two decades.

What’s Covered

  • Workmanship on every repair. If something we installed or fixed fails inside the guarantee period, we return and correct it at no charge, no arguing about whose fault it is.
  • Parts and materials handling. When a part fails under the manufacturer’s coverage, we handle the claim and the reinstallation so you’re not stuck on hold with a supplier.
  • On-time arrival, within the window we give you. If we’re running late, you’ll hear from us before the window closes, not after you’ve been waiting an hour.
  • Written pricing before work begins. The number on the written quote is the number on the invoice. If the scope changes mid-job, we stop and get your approval in writing before proceeding.
  • Cleanup on every visit. We lay drop cloths, run HEPA vacuums, and leave your hearth and floors as clean as we found them, sometimes cleaner.
  • The flue shown to you. If we recommend repair work, we show you the camera footage of the flue liner (the clay or steel tube that vents combustion gases out of your home) so you can see exactly what we’re seeing.

Our Satisfaction Promise

If you’re not happy with the job, you tell us and we make it right. That’s the whole process. We don’t hand you a survey and hope for the best. We want you to look at the work, look at the written guarantee, and feel confident that the chimney is safe to use. If something looks off or doesn’t match what we described, call us at (725) 220-6109 and a live person answers, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No voicemail loops, no “we’ll get back to you Monday.” We’ll schedule the return visit, diagnose what happened, and fix it under the 365-Day Done Right Promise if it’s a covered repair. If it’s a sweep that didn’t meet your standard, we re-sweep at no charge. The Kingswell Way, the standard every independently owned Kingswell location follows, comes down to five values: say the price, show up in the window, leave it cleaner, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if it fails. We don’t consider a job done until those five things all happened.

Licensed & Insured Backing

Any chimney company can print a guarantee on a flyer. The question is whether they’re licensed and insured so that guarantee actually has weight behind it. We are. Every Ashby Chimney Las Vegas technician arrives background-checked and in uniform, and the company carries the licensing and insurance a Las Vegas homeowner should expect before letting anyone onto their roof or into their firebox. That matters because chimney work happens on rooftops, inside flues, and around gas and wood-burning systems. If a contractor isn’t properly insured and something goes wrong, the homeowner is the one left holding the bill. We carry the coverage so you never have to think about that. Combined with the written guarantee on every repair, the licensing and insured backing are what make the promise enforceable, not just friendly.

What the Guarantee Covers, in Plain Terms

Here’s what the Kingswell Guarantee covers and how it works in practice. Say we repair a cracked flue liner in a Summerlin home using professional-grade materials from recognized chimney-trade brands like DuraFlex or HeatShield. You get a written price before the liner goes in. You get a written guarantee when the job is done. If that repair fails inside the guarantee period, you call (725) 220-6109, a live person answers, and we schedule the free return visit. We do not charge for the second trip, the diagnosis, or the correction. That’s the free second visit, and it’s included in the job, not sold as an add-on.

We source our repair materials from suppliers that build for the chimney trade specifically: DuraFlex for flexible liners, HeatShield for resurfacing systems, Gelco and Olympia Chimney for caps and chase covers, Famco and Copperfield for vents, dampers, and termination components. When your repair uses these materials, the underlying manufacturer coverage still applies, and we manage that paperwork on your behalf. The Ashby guarantee is about our workmanship and the total job being done right, the way Nate would want it done on his own fireplace.

How Often Should a Chimney Be Swept in Las Vegas?

Once a year is the standard recommendation from the National Fire Protection Association and the Chimney Safety Institute of America, and that applies in Las Vegas too, even if you only burn fires between November and February. Las Vegas is a desert climate, but the creosote (the flammable residue wood smoke leaves behind) still builds up with every fire. The dry air doesn’t prevent creosote, it just makes the wood burn hotter, which can bake the buildup into a hard, glassy glaze that’s harder to remove and more flammable. If you burn manufactured logs, the binders in those logs can leave deposits too. A yearly sweep costs most Las Vegas homeowners between $150 and $250, and it’s the cheapest fire insurance you’ll ever buy. Call (725) 220-6109 for a written quote, free of charge.

Do I Really Need a New Liner, or Is Someone Selling Me Something?

You deserve to see the evidence before you spend thousands of dollars. With Ashby Chimney Las Vegas, you will. Every inspection includes a camera run of the flue liner, and we show you the footage before we quote any repair. In Las Vegas, the two most common liner problems are cracks from decades of heating and cooling cycles, and gaps at the mortar joints between clay tiles. Both let heat and combustion gases escape into the chimney structure instead of venting up and out. If the camera shows a liner that’s intact with normal buildup, we’ll tell you to book a sweep and enjoy your fireplace. We will not recommend a liner replacement you don’t need. And if the camera does show damage, you’ll see it with your own eyes before we hand you a written price. The number on that quote is the number you pay, and the repair comes with the written guarantee in writing. For an exact assessment, call (725) 220-6109.

What Actually Happens If I Skip the Yearly Sweep?

Creosote buildup is the number one cause of chimney fires. It’s highly combustible, and a hot fire with a strong draft can ignite it. When it burns, it burns hot, over 2,000°F, and that heat can crack the flue liner, warp the damper, and in the worst cases spread into the structure of the home. In Las Vegas, where many homes are newer construction but still see heavy fireplace use in winter, we regularly see gas fireplaces that haven’t been inspected in years with soot and debris buildup in the firebox and venting. Gas fireplaces produce less creosote than wood, but they produce moisture and acidic residue that corrodes metal components over time. If you’ve skipped a few years, don’t panic. Just book an inspection with a sweep. We’ll camera the flue, show you what’s there, and give you a written price for whatever’s actually needed, even if that’s just a standard sweep at $150 to $250. Call (725) 220-6109 to schedule.

The Kingswell Way in Las Vegas

Ashby Chimney Las Vegas is independently owned and operated under the standards of the Kingswell Guarantee. That means Nate runs this business, answers for this business, and stands behind every job we do here in the valley. The Kingswell Way is the operating standard every Kingswell location follows: say the price, show up in the window, leave it cleaner, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if it fails. We like the name Ashby for a chimney company. Ash is right there in the name, and cleaning it out is the job. If you’re in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, Spring Valley, or anywhere else in the valley, we’d rather show you the flue than talk you into work you don’t need. Call (725) 220-6109 and ask for a written quote. We’ll show you the flue, the price, and the guarantee, all before we start.
